DETAILED SHOP DRAWINGS
Enjoy a smoother, more productive build
Before starting any project, we take the architectural and/or structural drawings in-house and redraw them, putting everything that’s needed on one page. This includes details that may or may not be included in architectural drawings, such as all design changes, wall elevations, brick ledges, rough size openings, and more.
We then coordinate everything directly with architects, engineers, builders, framers and other trades to ensure all the details will work out before pouring. And because we take the time to think everything through, potential issues are solved ahead of time and you won’t have to “fill in the blanks” later, saving you time, money and headaches.
3D MODELING
Leave nothing to chance
As part of our process, we provide 3D models of more complex foundations or other concrete structures at no additional cost. This lets you see exactly what you’re getting before work begins. For foundations, this means seeing the grading around the foundation, how the framing and structural steel will land on it, how the porch will sit and even what the steps will look like coming into the house.
Some “old-school” builders believe we’re over-thinking this… but we say to trust the process. By producing shop drawings, and often a 3D model, you can expect your project to be completed exactly how you envision it, on time and on budget.
TOTAL STATION TECHNOLOGY
No tape measures or strings & levels required
We use a total station, a modern piece of surveying equipment used for precise measuring on construction sites and other applications that reduces or eliminates the need for traditional layout methods.
This robotic measuring tool gives us the ability to collect data, measure exact distances, determine differences in elevation and make calculations without using a tape measure or working in a maze of string lines. It’s extremely accurate too, making our investment extremely worthwhile!

In 1997, John Pennings opened his first business, John’s Concrete Forming, in Rockton, Ontario. From the beginning, he earned a solid reputation for his thorough, precise concrete forming and excellent service.
Operating as Calibre Concrete since 2014, we’re still known throughout the construction industry for our beautiful concrete work and our organized, flexible service. This is what you can expect after securing our services

Perform data collection
We’ll arrive at your site to collect all the necessary data using total station technology.
2.
Prepare and submit drawings
Using the data we collected along with architectural and structural drawings, we’ll create detailed shop drawings and submit them for approval.
3.
Start the project
After the drawings have been approved, they’ll be printed for use on the jobsite and our professional crew will get to work!
